Magro's prides itself in the quality of the products it produces. Our mission statement and goals when we opened was to produce the highest quality product at an affordable price for our customers. We knew when we opened that we couldn't compete with Walmart, Meyers, and all the big chain grocerty stores on price. We also knew that they couldn't compete with us on quality.

Magro's prides itself in buying and selling locally raised cattle and pork from local producers. We slaughter all the animals ourselves and dry age the beef. After proper aging we process the carcasses per our customers instructions. All products are then vacuum sealed and flash frozen. This process insures that the quality of the product will be second to none. All products processed by Magro's is guaranteed 100% . Our name is on every package that leaves our plant.

Products

Many people think there's plenty of beef no farther away than their favorite grocery store or restaurant. But it's not that simple to get high quality beef where and when people want it.

The beef supply is no accident.It's thousands of miles and 21-30 months from conception to consumption from farms to feedlots to packing plants until that steaks or roast is finally cut, wrapped and ready at your neighborhood food store. In between are countless managment decisions resulting in profits, losses. sucesses, failures, huge investments, and months of long, hard work

There is no quick way to a T-Bone. A cow provides room and board for nine months until a calf is born then the cow and calf are on pasture five to seven months to yield the calf's weaning weight of 500 lbs. Then, depending on forage and economic conditions, another 3 months of hay grass and corn is needed to result in feedlot ready cattle between 650 and 850 lbs. After 5-6 months on corn and born by-products, protein supplements and hay, a 1,300 lb feedlot-finished heifer to steer is ready for processing

The average 750 lb steer will consume 5.600 lbs of feed by the time it reaches 1.300 lbs. The ration will include 55 bushels (3,080lbs.) of corn, which 40% could be substituted with corn by-products as corn gluten and brewer grains.

An 1,300 lb. steer doesn't yeild 1,300 lbs. of beef. On the average, that steer yields a 806 lb. carcass. Approximately 164.8 lbs of fat bone are trimmed off, leaving about 641.1 lbs. in retail beef cuts.

Very little of the other 494 lbs. is lost, however. It includes about 27 lbs. of variety meats (liver, heart, tongue, tripe, sweetbreads, and brains) which are exported, plus by-products that are used in a variety of foods. The hide and other non-edible body parts are used to make cosmetics and clothing, as well as a host of manufactured items. These by-products are also an important source of life-saving, life improving medicines such as insulin and heparin.

Retail prices of beef must cover the prices paid to the producer, cost of processing, refrigeration, transportation, rent, taxes, and labor.

Magro's welcomes special order cuts to our customers specifications

Certain weight of roast, thickness of steaks or certain sizes of steaks including 12oz, 18oz, 24oz, etc.

Also special packaging is available.

For our customers who have purchased quarters or halfs of beef or pork we have an open door policy

Our customers can come to our processing room and watch their product while its being processed

They have to schedule and appointment and wear white coat and hats which we provide so they can enter the processing room.
